The Story

Seven childhood friends meet for dinner to watch a lunar eclipse. What starts out as a lovely evening takes an unexpected turn when they agree to share every text message, call or notification that appears on their phones. Betrayals, secrets and unresolved issues emerge, threatening their friendships and marriages.  

A wonderfully wicked ensemble piece, Perfect Strangers is the directorial debut of beloved Israeli actor Lior Ashkenazi (who stars in JIFF 2022 film Karaoke). Layer upon layer of lies, unexpected betrayals, and surprising twists abound in this searing and entertaining dramedy which reveals all the ways we hide our true nature.
