Hayden Jones Quartet

Hayden Jones is a Melbourne-based jazz vocalist and songwriter, who has recorded and performed with some of Australia’s finest jazz musicians. Jones has released acclaimedalbums and was nominated for the Australian Bell Awards, Jazz Vocal Category, for his album Nine Lives Slipping. He has alsohad rave reviews, including in the US magazine Jazz Timesand All About Jazz New York. Jones’s voice has beendescribed as having a flowing attack that summons updeeper emotional groundswell. And, having just enough“lived in” ingredients, combined with expression and finely tuned control.

Jones’s latest album, Into Every Longing Heart, combines his unique vocal talent with his skill as songwriter and producer. Into Every Longing Heart has all original songs by Jones with arrangements with his long-time collaborator Mark Fitzgibbon. The album, recorded by NikoSchäuble at Pughouse Studios, features Fitzgibbon on pianoand keyboards, Craig Fermanis on guitar, Danny Fischer ondrums and Harry Morrison on double bass. The songs on thealbum have themes of light, darkness and the longing heart, which can call us into a sense of the divine. This is the firstrelease for Jones in six years, showcasing his songwriting, vocal versatility and artistry.
