Fuelled by his mother’s prophecy, young Mackenzie King, played by a maniacally ambitious Dan Beirne, is determined to fulfil his political destiny. But when a romantic distraction and a dashing rival enter the picture, cracks form in this mama’s boy’s spirit. He soon turns to hallucinogenic gratification as he struggles to become the leader Canada needs.
