The Story

Ezra Lee is Australia's piano playing wild man with an original style that's steeped in rumbling boogie woogie, low down blues and untamed rockabilly. As a teenager Ezra joined legendary Australian band Johnny Green's Blues Cowboys (featured in the ABC documentary Heart Of Country series), playing up and down the east coast of Australia. In 2009 Ezra wrote and released two albums, Out Of The Valley and You Can't Stop A Freight Train on the iconic rockabilly label Preston Records and later that year starred in the hit theatre production The Ultimate Rock 'n’ Roll Jam Session that toured nationally and ended with a month of sold out shows at The Sydney Opera House with Australian music icons, James Blundell, Nick Barker, Dave Larkin and Doug Parkinson and in April 2011 Ezra Lee supported Jerry Lee Lewis in Las Vegas. In 2012 Ezra signed with European label Rhythm Bomb Records and released three albums and in 2013 Wanda Jackson had The Ezra Lee Show as her opening act and backing band for The Party Ain't Over national tour for Bluesfest Touring. In 2014 Ezra relocated to Melbourne and started The Ezra Lee Show performing original rockin' blues, boogie with Ray West on double bass and Eddie Fury (The Detonators, The Fireballs) on drums. Ezra is also the boogie piano player in the original pub rock band The Heartbrokers alongside illustrious Aussie music veterans Van Walker, Jeff Lang, Cal Walker and Ashley Davies.
