A chance encounter between two women in their seventies sets in motion an unexpected friendship that will change both of their lives. Inspired by the novel by Lucie Konečná, The Swings is a bittersweet and deeply human story about female friendship, belonging, and the search for meaning at every stage of life. Blending humour, tenderness, and moments of quiet reflection, the film explores the challenges and joys of growing older, reminding us that the desire for independence, connection, and new beginnings never fades.

Directed by five-time Czech Lion Award winner Bohdan Sláma, The Swings features outstanding performances from Dagmar Havlová and Zuzana Kronerová. A warm and heartfelt portrait of two women who discover that it is never too late for friendship, change, and a new chapter in life.
