The 1973 World Figure Skating Championships in Bratislava are more than a sporting event, they are a showcase for communist Czechoslovakia. At the centre stands Ondrej Nepela, the country's greatest figure skating champion, poised to claim another world title. As political pressure mounts in the days leading up to the competition, Ondrej must confront not only the expectations of a nation but also his own fears and an uncertain future. Inspired by the extraordinary life of one of Czechoslovakia's greatest sporting icons, Last Routine is a stirring historical drama about ambition, identity, and the personal cost of greatness. Directed by Jakub Červenka and featuring a compelling performance from Adam Kubala as Ondrej Nepela, alongside Jana Nagyová as his legendary coach, Hilda Múdra, the film reveals the man behind the legend.
