Fellow white witches and warlocks, pledge your soul to the Mother Goddess and join the coven at our sacred winter solstice screening of The Love Witch.

After a successful limited season exclusive to Lido in Melbourne, coinciding with Valentine's Day earlier in the year, the luxurious feminist ode to retro 60s horror, The Love Witch, is returning to our screens.

Directed by Anna Biller (Viva), The Love Witch tells of a modern-day witch called Elaine (Samantha Robinson), who uses ‘love magic’ to spellbind men into falling for her. However, Elaine’s potions and talismans are a little too effective, leaving a string of hapless victims in her wake.

To prepare the space for the magick spirit and mystical energy of this film, we're hosting white witch approved activities in the foyer beforehand. Think tarot reading, crystal healing, love potion cocktails, and seductive spell-casting.

Catch it only at Lido in Melbourne.

Elaine, a beautiful young witch, is determined to find a man to love her. In her gothic Victorian apartment she makes spells and potions, and then picks up men and seduces them. However, her spells work too well, leaving her with a string of hapless victims. When she finally meets the man of her dreams, her desperation to be loved will drive her to the brink of insanity and murder.

With a visual style that pays tribute to Technicolor thrillers of the ‘60s, THE LOVE WITCH explores female fantasy and the repercussions of pathological narcissism.
