PURPLE RAIN SCREENING FOR PRINCE'S BIRTHDAY

Dearly beloved, we are gathering at Lido Cinemas to get through this thing called 'life', and to celebrate together what would have been Prince's 59th birthday, with a screening of the iconic 80s favourite, Purple Rain.

Join us when we belt out the lyrics to 'Let's Go Crazy', 'I Would Die 4 U', and - of course - the title track 'Purple Rain', so his Purple Highness might hear us from the heavens, and know that we still think of him often.

Dancing in the aisles is encouraged.

Set in Minneapolis - Prince's hometown - PURPLE RAIN centres on young rock musician, The Kid. To escape his troublesome family life, The Kid spends all his time performing at the First Avenue nightclub with his band, The Revolution.

Gifted and in love, The Kid falls for the talented Apollonia upon meeting her but nothin’ comes easy and he is soon forced to stave off rival Morris Day from stealing his spotlight – and his girl.

When hell breaks loose both at the club and at home, the Kid discovers his only refuge is in music, and he becomes inspired to write the film’s famous title song.
