“More fun than a hopped-up helicopter joy ride.” – Little White Lies
Lido Cinemas is thrilled to announce a very special Q&A screening of Free Fire with the film's acclaimed director Ben Weatley (High-Rise, Sightseers, Kill List) via Skype on Sunday 23 April at 6.30pm.
An electrifying comedy-thriller about an arms deal that goes explosively wrong, Free Fire is set in gritty 1970s Boston and shot almost entirely inside a warehouse.
It features an all-star cast including Oscar-winner Brie Larson, Armie Hammer, Sharlto Copley, Cillian Murphy, Michael Smiley, Sam Riley, Babou Ceesay and Australia's Noah Taylor.
Join us for this wickedly fun and wildly epic shootout, followed by a Q&A session with the visionary director himself. Book tickets now by clicking on the session time below.
Considered one of Britain's most talented young directors, Ben Wheatley cut his teeth on advertising, short films and animations that went viral online. He has directed six feature films: Down Terrace, Kill List, Sightseers, A Field in England, High-Rise and Free Fire. Often, he collaborates with his wife, Amy Jump, who co-writes with Wheatley and edits their films.
"Ben Wheatley is a rare bird in UK film. He’s a director making the films he wants to make, the way he wants to make them. He keeps a toe in the arthouse but with an eye on the mainstream. He has no discernible style, adapting as the material demands. Collecting all his films together, from 2009’s dazzling single-set debut, Down Terrace, to date, he’s proven himself as a filmmaker who can put his hand to anything that comes down the chute." - Little White Lies
