At Lido, we pride ourselves on our diverse Food and Drink Bar that offers a selection of delicious cinema snacks, both traditional and alternative, to accompany your film-going experience.
We’ve taken care to curate a menu that’s supplied and sourced locally wherever possible, vegetarian and we’ve also put in an extra effort to use recycled materials in our packaging.
Our range of craft beers and boutique wines are entirely Victorian, and since we’re fully licensed, you can enjoy a drink from the comfort of your cinema seat as well as in the foyer afterwards. Our beer taps change seasonally but at the moment, we’re pouring Dainton Family Brewery XSA Session Ale and Temple Brewing Bicycle Summer Ale. In the warmer months we serve sangria and during winter we break out the mulled wine. Cider drinkers are looked after, and there’s even a refreshing alcoholic ginger beer: ‘The Ginger Kid’ brewed by winemakers from Harcourt Valley Vineyards.
If you’re heading into a morning session, take along a barista-made coffee with you – we use beans from the Hawthorn-based Axil Coffee Roasters - or a cup of Teadrop tea. Soft drinks, Noah’s juices and Hepburn Springs sparkling varieties are all on offer, but if you’re feeling extra tropical, treat yourself to a whole drinking coconut!
Of course, for many it wouldn’t be a trip to the movies without a box of popcorn. Our popcorn is all natural and vegan-friendly, cooked in coconut oil and sea salt, and packaged in boxes created from recycled materials. Prefer a bag of chips? We stock crisps made by Chipman Chips, which are made in Australia, organic, and 100% gluten-free. You can choose from potato, sweet potato, beetroot or corn chips.
If you’re in need of something more substantial, try some vegetarian dumplings or vegetarian bao supplied to us by Chapel Street’s Oriental Tea House, or perhaps a freshly made toastie or some nachos. Share a bowl of warm edamame beans with your cinema date, sip on a miso soup or savour some Mt Zero olives.
For the sweet tooths, we have a variety of lovingly handmade choc-tops designed especially for us by artisan Glenferrie Road gelataria Piccolina. Using all natural ingredients, there are nine flavours to try, including honeycomb, salted caramel and Piccolina’s trademark Better Than Nutella, as well as old favourites like mint and vanilla. However, vegans and those with lactose-free diets need not miss out on the ice cream experience! The chocolate brownie flavour Piccolina choc-top is dairy-free and we also stock Coco Joes tubs of dairy-free ice cream made from coconut milk by a family team in Hawthorn.
Alongside M&Ms, Maltesers and Pods, there are lolly bags made by Sassafras Sweet Co., Pana Chocolate bars (vegan, raw and certified organic) and tempting slices and cookies from Humble Patisserie.
