A Jewish International Film Festival event.

“I’m all for you, body and soul”

The Great American Songbook is replete with standards from Jewish composers, inducted into the jazz canon by black musicians. Perhaps none has been as enduring as the 1930s tune Body and Soul, composed by Jewish songwriter Johnny Green, introduced on Broadway by Jewish torch singer Libby Holman, and first recorded as a jazz piece by Louis Armstrong.
Following the screening of Body and Soul: An American Bridge at The Jewish International Film Festival, the Jewish Museum Australia co-present some hip-swaying, soul shaking Amy Winehouse-inspired jazz.

Ruth Rogers-Wright & Fem Belling will be joined by the Mark Fitzgibbon Trio to play the jazz standards of Amy Whitehouse.
Presented in association with the Amy Winehouse: A Family Portrait exhibition.

Two separate performances: 7.30pm & 9pm
Price: $30 Adult, $25 Concession
