The Story
New Orleans style clarinettist and bandleader Jo Stevenson, is a much-loved Melbourne institution, holding down residencies in many hotels around the South Melbourne/Port Melbourne areas. In an age where residencies are few and far between, Jo Stevenson’s Rockets have been belting out joyful interpretations of classical style jazz at The Emerald Hotel for over 17 years.
Jo has a fun approach to playing jazz music. At this gig he will reunite with his Stonnington Gardens rhythm section, pianist Bob Sedergreen, bassist Jon Chidgey and drummer Sonja Horbelt in a night of what promises to be light-hearted jazz played in a seriously authentic manner
